Eligibility

You may be eligible if you:

  • were a resident of Ontario at the end of the year and
  • you claimed an amount for child care services on your tax return for eligible children

How to apply

Apply for Ontario Childcare Access and Relief from Expenses Tax Credit

  • Prepare your income tax and benefit return.
  • Complete Form T778, Child Care Expenses Deduction, and enter the amount claimed on line 21400 of your tax return before completing Schedule ON479-A.
  • Complete Schedule ON479–A, Childcare Access and Relief from Expenses Tax Credit.
  • Enter the tax credit amount on line 1 of your Form ON479.
  • If you are filing by paper - include your completed Schedule ON479-A with your return.
